Charleigh Rose writes such emo characters, I LOVE IT!!

Two beautifully broken bbs finding each other and overcoming their past traumas. We love to see it.

Each book in this series is technically since they follow different couples, but I feel like you get more out of each book when you read them in order. For instance in Book 2 - Bad Intentions, we learn about Jesse's life and what brought them to River's Edge. I do think if you really wanted to read this book on its own you can, you just might want to read the previous one for more character arcs.

The worst day of Allison's life was her eighteenth birthday, the same day her dad died in a car accident. Left on her own, she moves to River's Edge, the same town she would go to in the summer to visit her father. Unfortunately for Allie, once her dad died, her mother took a backseat in her life. Which wasn't new to her, because her mom never wanted to be her mom??

Since River's Edge is a small town (also a tourist town) the jobs options are slime, but she gets a job at The Blackbear Diner. Which Lo is the manager of - from Bad Intentions, book 2. This leads her to running into Jesse, popular lacrosse player and her manager's younger brother. However, she can't help but notice he seems different than your typical jock. They also end up running into each other on campus.

Jesse has had a rough life. His father left him and his older sister when they were young with their addict mother, only to track him down later in life to find out the father they thought they had wasn't actually their bio dad. Because of this, he puts on a front but he has a hard time letting people in. This leads him to being kicked off the lacrosse team and things start to go downhill, but not only for him.

Allie has been a stowaway with her bestie on campus, when someone snitches on them she has no where to go. She starts sleeping at The Blackbear diner, unbeknownst to Lo. When Lo finds out this, she opens up her home. And alas, Jesse and Allie are in close proximity to each other. And of course tensions between the two rise and they give in. Opting for a friends with benefits, secret hook up, no penetration situationship.

Such a good book!! I'm just obsessed with this entire series. Kind of wish it wasn't over though, I need more of all of these characters.
