The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth

2.0

I really struggled to get through this one. [b:Carve the Mark|30117284|Carve the Mark (Carve the Mark, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1462467867s/30117284.jpg|44736077] was the same way at the beginning, but then I really got into it. This one seemed promising in the first chapter, but then it just didn't hold my attention. I think one of my problems was that it had been around a year since I read the first book, and I couldn't remember all the characters. Usually it comes back to me as I read the sequel, but this one it didn't. I think Roth could have done a better job of jogging the reader's memory about what happened in the first book. I can't be the only one who struggled, right?

In [b:Carve the Mark|30117284|Carve the Mark (Carve the Mark, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1462467867s/30117284.jpg|44736077] I connected well with Akos and Cyra, but in [b:The Fates Divide|35820633|The Fates Divide (Carve the Mark, #2)|Veronica Roth|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1513195268s/35820633.jpg|46168217] I just couldn't. I'm quite disappointed over all. Especially since the reviews indicated that this would be the better of the two books. Oh well.
