Hexing with a Chance of Tornadoes by Mandy M. Roth
2.0
I was kind of meh on the first novel, but the story itself (once you got past all the sappiness) was still generally enjoyable.
I figured this one would fall along similar lines, but unfortunately it was rushed and it definitely felt like it. There was very little fleshing out of the actual story; everything just seemed to kind of... Happen. It also seemed to read more like a poorly written YA novel than Paranormal Woman's Fiction, with the group of players interacting more like a clique in highschool than fully mature adults in their 40s. Not in a Mean Girls way - more of a Popular Kids way - all jocks and cheerleaders, but in the form of wolves and witches and with a little more common sense. Slightly less melodrama, too, but only slightly.
