Run Away with Me by Brian Selznick

Brian Selznick always writes the most beautiful stories. I have read pretty much all of his middle grade and above novels and they just really speak to me. They are light in some aspects. Very detailed in others. I don’t know. I could see how flimsy his stuff could be to a lot of people but for me he gives me just enough to make me imagine everything else with no effort. This one of course is beautiful for creating a story where queerness is everywhere and always has been. Angelo and Danny creating their own history while being in their own beautiful love story is so affirming, recognizable.
