this is unquestionably a five star read. once again, taylor jenkins reid has stunned me with her storytelling. like other books of hers, carrie soto is back drew me in and had me invested for all of the novel. this is a beautiful piece and a very well fleshed out story. carrie’s growth on an emotional level was commendable throughout this story, and i loved her relationship with bowe. because my own dad is one of my best friends in the world, carrie and javier made me feel ALL the feels. there are so many good characters in this book, but i want to finish with a credit to nicki chan’s character. not only is she a formidable opponent and absolute badass, the qualities of her character allow the book to address a lot of the discrimination that exists in professional sports, which was a great aspect of this book. this book is phenomenal and perfectly worked into the TJR universe.
