Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
5.0
There’s a lot to digest here. It’s hard to talk about this intricate novel without spoiling too much so this will probably be a smaller review than my normal ones.
What I can tell you is that Orson Scott Card reminds all of his readers whose powerful children truly are. Set in some futuristic military driven world, we are tasked with following Ender Wiggin through the depths of his journey as a recruit. Being recruited at a young age really opened up a can of worms for him just like it did for all the others.
In this YA novel, there are so many ideas to explore. Readers experience peak storytelling, psychological insights, and of course, our worst fears about society exposed for the world to see. Everything is laid bare for the world to see and hopefully discuss. If anything, it’s yet another warning to society.
I can’t believe it took me to finally read this novel.
