As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner
5.0

A tour de force of tragedy, irony, and perspective. I expected a slow, boring read; I found a novel of complex ideas in simple language, full of wild emotion and passion, an with more unexpected and ironic twists than can possibly be predicted. It's a little challenging as a read, not in terms of language but in understanding plot through shifting narrators, but also more than worth it.
