John's essays moved me in many ways. They've inspired me to write down thoughts that had been on my mind for a while, to have important conversations, to laugh more and see the world and the stories that unfold in it in a new light.
I'm grateful for this book and the kind presence that John offers in it, I'm sure I'll keep coming back to it again and again, every time I see a Ginkgo Biloba, every time I hear Auld Lang Syne.
My only regret is that there aren't more essays, so I hope there is a second part.
I give "The Anthropocene Reviewed" four and a half stars.
