2024 mini review
This was such an AMAZING volume! It broke my heart all over again. It definitely affirms my love for this series. The angst makes my heart hurt, but it also makes this series all the better! This continues to explore very realistic challenges in a relationship, and I love it for doing so.
I can’t believe I even slightly forgot the chokehold Minato and Shizuma had on me 😭 But this volume confirms why whenever people ask for BL recs, this is always the first one I say. Of adult BL, it’s absolutely my favorite. No doubt about that.

I’m absolutely OBSESSED with these two. I love them so much I don’t know what to do with myself 😭
This volume did have quite a bit of angst as well! Minato and Shizuma are spending less time together because Shizuma is now working full time as a vet, and it puts a strain in their relationship. Minato continues to struggle with feelings of jealousy (despite rationally knowing Shizuma wouldn’t cheat), and he’s also dealing with the fact that he misses Shizuma a shitton. Which is incredibly valid because if Shizuma were my boyfriend I would also miss him all the time 😩
The smut in this volume was also absolutely delightful, and I live for it. It’s so fucking good 🙏🏼 I eat it up every time like it can fuel me for life.
I also need Shizuma and Minato to move in together 😭 I need it like I need BREATH. They can’t keep putting me through this where they clearly want to live together and spend all the time they can together but are unable to because they live separately. My agony must be put to an end 🥺
However, the main reason this volume gets 4.5🌟 instead of 5 is because so far I don’t like where Shizuma is working. Most of his coworkers give me bad vibes. Truly bad vibes. He deserves so much better! He is a good bean. He doesn’t deserve to have all this manual labor forced on him and then a sus director. No, thanks. But we’ll see what happens…
