Girl in Need of a Tourniquet: Memoir of a Borderline Personality by Merri Lisa Johnson

4.0

This is a beautiful memoir from someone with BPD. The prose is breathtaking, the style really encapsulates the way she was thinking, I recognise it in myself. I love the mix of that prose with psychology, the critical analysis of the psychiatric dogma around the condition, all mixed in with her own history. BPD is a difficult condition to understand, and it can be really hard to explain to friends and family, so finding work that resonates with my experience is always a beautiful experience for me.
