A Flat Place by Noreen Masud
4.0
The unique beauty in how Masud experiences flat landscapes is matched only by her talent for prose. I have never visited Lahore, or Morecambe Bay, or Newcastle Moor, but through Masud's eyes, these places feel so vivid and familiar. It must be galling to set out to write one book and find yourself publishing a different, intensely intimate one; especially when it implicates your living relationships. Huge respect to Masud and I hope she gets all the acclaim she deserves, as well as to carry on relishing in solitude, flatness, and cat cuddles.
