The Necklace by Gary Kelley, Guy de Maupassant
4.0
Was perhaps a bit put off by Mathilde, she seemed rather flat and self-absorbed and stereotypical, but I can forgive that (sort of) given the book was written by a man in the 19th century. de Maupassant's sneaky hallmark twist ending actually did give me a chuckle, though you do kind of see it coming if you try to guess it. All in all, an entertaining little story.
