Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe

3.0

This was a very eye-opening read about the mindset of a northern abolitionist at the time. The book is less about the African American slaves and more a philosophical essay on slavery and its implications in the American and Christian society. It was a relief to see how far our country has changed since then and yet discouraging that similar mindsets and patterns of abuse are still seen in America and other countries around the world.
