A creepy sea-side shanty village holds a dark secret and doesn’t welcome outsiders. Sorrow Hamilton-an outsider-comes upon this town looking for her brother after he’s gone missing. What could go wrong? Lots. With undertones of Eldrich horror, creatures from the deep and mysterious figures walking the beach at night, I really enjoyed this book. I do wish that we got more lore and fear around “The Lords,” themselves and less of Sorrow complaining and fretting over the locals. Still, I enjoyed this read for slow-burn horror feel and anything below the sea is intriguing to me!
