The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris

3.0

Unpopular, almost dislike rating

I sure thought that I was going to like and maybe love this book, but I found it confused and unclear and with entirely too many people who were undistinguished from each other.
It is blindingly clear that I am not “woke” enough to grasp much of the situation. Hazel’s character, though, made me extremely uncomfortable from the start, which I believe was the plan.
It will likely make for good book club discussion for the issues raised but I cannot endorse the writing. It simply evaded me.
