The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

4.0

This novel was great from start to finish. In particular I cared a lot about the brothers, mostly the one telling the story, the younger of the Sisters Brothers. Patrick deWitt has a way of drawing you in; similar I found to Cormac McCarthy where he can describe the scene in very few words but create an impression of the characters and tone very easily.
I especially loved the section about 2/3 of the way in which is what the character found upon entering the hotel room. I won't spoil anything but it will make sense when you read it.
Great prose. I look forward to other books by deWitt.
