The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

1.0

The Dead Romantics is better.

Honestly, I couldn't get into the story or the characters at all. It felt like the plot was all over the place without any real meaning or improvement. Clementine's sudden turnaround at the end felt too rushed, like her character development wasn't consistent. And Iwan? His character was just confusing, especially his present-day version, which felt pointless. I mean, past Iwan was sweet, but that's not enough to save this from being a two-star one-star (changed my mind) read. Plus, Clementine and Iwan's relationship felt forced and happened way too fast.

And don't even get me started on how predictable everything was. I kept waiting for something amazing to happen, the exceptional story everyone talks about, but it never did.

I'll give credit where it's due—the author can write beautifully. There were some really deep and lovely quotes scattered throughout. But even that couldn't salvage this book for me.
