HELP what
This book was LITERALLT such a shitshow bye like the stuff that happened
Okay let’s start with him wanting to kill her because that was lowkey hot
“You can’t kill me,” I said, my voice more steady than I felt. “People would notice.”
“I expect people to notice.” Edward picked up a fountain pen off his desk and twirled it absentmindedly. “I have a first-rate funeral planned. I expect many will attend, even though it will be held in London. I don’t have time right now to go to the U.S., which I’m sure your parents would prefer, but that isn’t theirs to decide. It will be a nice event, are you sure you. I’ve even saved you the covered spot in the family plot next to my parents.”
“ Think about if you want to live? Sure. I’m in no rush to snap that neck. It really is pretty.”
LIKE MF BYE NOT ONLY WAS THIS SHIT FUNNY AS HELL IT WAS JUST LIKE OKAYYY
Umm yeah okay so then we had the whole keeping her trapped on the island and like she shared shït and like they had this rlly strange therapist type captor type relationship ish thing that was rlly cofmsuing and highkey probs Stockholm syndrome but it’s fine
Celia: okay so I usually find the “I’m gonna break you” shit from men cringe cuz it always ends up dumb, this actually was intresting because he broke her like unironcially and it was like so slow that you didn’t really notice till close to end and it was like he cared but didn’t and yeah. So I loved Celia but in book 1 I had a lot of issues with her but here I liked her purely bc I understood her motivations at this point. Also girls past was one of the most traumatic shit I’ve ever read like I was reading that shit and I was like bruh oh my lord. Also the fact she got therapy and wasn’t magically fixed by the man was swag.
Edward: okay I liked him at some points, was largely confused by him in others and overall he was fine. Like he was billionaire ceo àsshole with dark past but like he was also just idk how to even describe him ig I liked him but yeah. So yeah him and Celia were just there’s no words to rlly describe it.
