The Galaxy, and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers
5.0
the end of a beautiful series. Chambers is phenomenally talented in her ability to encapsulate large worlds and broad topics into accessible and tangible conversations and plot points. characters react in realistic ways, have prejudices and biases, work through those biases in natural ways, create connections that feel real, and are overall genuine and authentic. to wrap up a series is a really difficult endeavor, but this book does a good job at that. we follow members from some of the species that exist in the series prior and they are forced into a situation where they must live and survive together despite their differences and blatant misunderstandings of the other species. it was difficult to say goodbye to the large cast of characters, but i know i will find myself dying to be immersed in this world and return to it again in the future.
