Oi vey.

So ya, here I am back in the Abbi-verse, this time in Sea Breeze, Alabama. This place can't exist, I mean that name is made for a soap opera, there's no way it's on a map. I say this as someone too un-involved to even look up a map of Alabama though.

This is the book where Abbi lost her virginity and published her tales of romance and true love in book form. As far as I can tell, this one pre-dates her usually overwhelming incest fetish as well as her gifted ability to write 'the racy stuff'.

Breathe (creative title) is about a 17 year old girl named something plain, Sally or Sarah, something with an S, and she moved to Sea Breeze with her single, very pregnant mother. Her mother is aloof and lazy so Sandy takes over her job for the summer cleaning for a manor. Much to her surprise, the house belongs to famed pop sensation Justin Bieber. Since Justin Bieber is young and famous, Selena has to keep her mouth shut about him living in town as well as avoid being a nuisance in his home. Unfortunately, she is the EPITOME OF BEAUTY! Blonde curly hair (like Blair from Never too Far) with AMAZING NATURAL LASHES (just like Della from Twisted Perfection) and the body of a seventeen year old that older boys just can't seem to shake, therefore Justin instantly falls in love with her. There's a small love triangle with a dude that is waaay nicer than Justin, but it's a useless endeavour because Justin and Shelly are married the moment their eyes meet, so how dare another guy try to be friendly and romantic with! RUDENESS!

The book drags for a bit here, they go on some dates and hang out around Sea Breeze, then when the media catches wind of this romance, Justin dumps Sasha because he doesn't want her to be forced into the spotlight and he'll be going back to his normal lifestyle in the fall. But breaking up solves nothing because the kids at her new high school are relentless. I mean they try to TALK to her and ASK QUESTIONS! the NERVE!

So then some bad things keep happening to Stacy and just when you think things can't get worse - COMA! Goddamn comas, they are always popping out of nowhere in YA, it's an epidemic. But this, this was a MIRACLE COMA because it brings Scarlet and Justin back together, solves her mother's post-partum depression and makes her male friend no longer jealous of her relationship with teen superstar, Justin Bieber. Fin. The groundbreaking piece that catapulted Abbi into the world of romance novels.

lol, I finally checked on her name - it's Sadie.

eta: fun fact, there were 3 different mary's mentioned in this book
