The Troop by Nick Cutter
3.0
dark medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I loved the concept, but the story falls flat as it progresses. Some positives are that the first portion of the story is great, the attention to detail for how the tapeworms work is phenomenal, and the setting was a great choice. However, I feel that the backstory of
the tapeworms secretly being a government bioweapon
is far less interesting than what it was initially presented as, the dialogue for the child characters is outdated, and that the sexual content for Shelley is completely unnecessary. The Troop has a lot of great elements to it, but had left me disappointed.
