The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch

5.0

Elizabeth is a beautiful princess with beautful clothes engaged to be married to a prince. One day a dragon comes along and burns up her palace and clothes and takes Ronald away! Eliabeth decides to go after him, but the only thing to wear that wasn't burned is a paper bag. She puts it on and goes off in search of her prince. She finds the dragon easily enough and outwits the dragon to save Ronald. But Ronald is stunned and embarassed by her appearance; despite the fact that she just saved him from being eaten. Elizabeth now has to make a choice: marry her ungrateful prince, or be happy on her own.

Great feminist children's book. I've been wanting to read this for a while because I've heard such great things about it. And they were all correct!! I want to give a copy to every little girl I know. One of my favorite children's books ever.
