Immortal in Death by J.D. Robb, J.D. Robb

Overall, this book was decent though there are a few reasons I rated it so low. The main one being that the futuristic setting seemed unnecessary. The futuristic tech was rarely mentioned, and even the reason the murder occurred didn’t need to include the futuristic aspect. It didn’t add anything to the story. I am aware this is a series, so maybe it plays a bigger role in the rest of the series. The ending was rushed and the murderer did the cliche “long villain talk where they laid out their own evil plan, why they did it, and why they will now kill this person giving the rescuers a chance to save the day”. Definitely took away from what could’ve been a great plot twist and made it feel cheap.
