Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 by L. Ron Hubbard

3.0

I read this back when I was in high school over 25 years ago before I knew anything about Scientology or L. Ron Hubbard besides those omnipresent Dianetics book commercials you'd see on off-hours basic cable back then. I remember thinking some parts of the book were tedious, but overall I thought it was great fun following along as humanity fought back against alien domination. Knowing what I know now, I definitely wouldn't re-read it, especially after having read parts of his Mission Earth series at a more mature point in my life, but I won't let that retroactively degrade my youthful impression of the book. So, if you're a dumb kid who just wants to read about people kicking some alien butt, I would definitely recommend this book to you.
