The Private Worlds of Dying Children by Myra Bluebond-Langner

emotional informative reflective sad medium-paced

4.5

This book surrounds the lives of children who are terminally ill and nearing death as the author works and monitors them throughout their treatments at the hospital. The book mentions and acknowledges very important information on a child’s perspective of knowing whether or not death is near and what their reactions are to that concept. You are also exposed to the lives and emotions of parents as they care for their children and repeatedly bring them back to clinic and the hospital in efforts to better their health. In an attempt to better understand how children value life and how their behaviors shift when learning of possible death, this book although heartbreaking, definitely highlights important and valuable information surrounding these topics.
