Bacchae by Euripides
4.0
So let me get this straight, dude straight up doubts the divinity of the intoxicating nature of our relationship with the physical and gets deheaded, castrating his kingdom, by his own mother, who acts as a tool of said divinity? And, more than this, the twice-born figure gets MFing carried away on a nearly pure symbol of fertility that pulls a triple act as symbols of the experiential (mental) and judgement? Sonuva, AND there's more to the story, with special regards to dissolution of our concepts of self and dismemberment?
If onlys and but we're candies and nuts, that poor, proud soul woulda recognized the sacred nature of his sensual self he wouldna been symbolically, incestuously non-con sexed by his dear ol great mama and been lead away by the divine revelation of his true form. Pride really do come before the impotency :(.
He didnae pray so prey he became. He didnae submit, so his kingdom acquit. He didnae thing and so he in'nae king.
