Mad Ship by Robin Hobb
4.5
adventurous dark emotional slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This was a lot better than the first book. Robin Hobb still likes to add all the plot at the very end of the book, and have every second book contain all the important plot threads. I enjoyed every POV a lot more this time around. I do have some reservations about the
sexism, not because it is there but because I am not entirely convinced it’s all from the world. The sheer amount of age gap relationships that aren’t arranged is honestly insane. I also think Althea is held back by her constant indecisiveness about Brashen. Same with Malta. Their arc is much better without choosing the bare minimum of men.
