Priestdaddy
by Patricia Lockwood
emotional
funny
fast-paced
Read on my mum's ereader in bits on the most exhausting road trip ever. Lockwood balances humour & meaning without ever proslytising, even if she veers into irritating millennial humour every so often. Her prose is beautiful and avoids being overwrought (some might say too purple, but I love elaborate prose) and gives the book a magical feeling. Wouldn't have picked this up otherwise, but I'm happy I did.
