I loved this gut punch of a memoir.
But the first third is absolutely terrifying. He had an awful childhood, raised by an actual Nazi Dad. This books includes rape, incest, war crimes, poverty, animal cruelty and death. These events are touched upon throughout the book but until he graduates college, he is under the thrall of an abusive alcoholic father. It is a hard read but worth it.
