corinnel88 's review for:
High Fidelity
by Nick Hornby
I've read a number of Nick Hornby's other books, but for some reason had never read High Fidelity. This novel was so good (and it was his first novel? damn, I'm impressed) that I a)wanted to read it again right away, which rarely happens and b)want to buy my own copy, which also rarely happens.
I'd seen the movie a few times so I was familiar with the plot: guy who owns a record store gets dumped and decides to figure out what he is doing wrong with his life that he keeps getting dumped. While I hate listening to people whine about how a book is so much better than a movie, this is definitely the case with High Fidelity, reason being that the reader gets to understand the character
