A fantastic coming-of-age book, but for adults. The theme of gaming runs throughout, and as someone born in 1999, I couldn’t quite relate to many of the technical aspects but the nostalgia is still relatable. The characters were imperfect and frustrating at times - except Marx, he’s too perfect for words - but that’s what it is to be human. The ending felt hopeful and gave me goosebumps. I wish I could read this book for the first time again.
