Did not finish book. Stopped at 2%.

A character that cares more about books than people is an interesting concept. A character who loves books but isn’t interested in politics gives me the major ick. The author set up a background that actually sounds interesting with an entire revolution taking place. No answer to why this is even happening because “I don’t do politics”??? This feels not only lazy but insulting. I’d find it hard to believe but too many people use this line in real life as an excuse for promoting problematic work. Such a shame. This could have been an interesting story.
