Dynasty: The Rise and Fall of the House of Caesar by Tom Holland

5.0

Really clarifies the first Caesars. Caligula and Nero are given more depth, and you can see both how they got their current reputations, and a sense for why. Various side tracks fill out the early empire and what it was like. The author uses wonderful language, a real pleasure to read (in this specific case listen to). Reader is excellent. I look forward to reading more from him.
