Lestat is sooo messy and it has me chomping at the bit !!!
I am tired, though, of the whole characters TELLING other characters their backstories. For the first book, sure, that was literally the entire premise. But we already have Lestat doing that in this book as its author. We don’t need to double it.How Armand’s story was told was creative, though, with Armand telepathically sending images. That whole The Elder telling Marius telling Lestat Akasha and Enkil’s backstory, however… I mean, the information was very interesting, worldbuilding stunning, but, it definitely had me scrambling for who actually experienced those events.
Those last few chapters go CRAZY!!!, though. Like WTF did I just read…
And the best scene for me was when Lestat (and the reader) meets Those Who Must Be Kept for the first time. When I tell you I was SQUIRMING! Shit was creepy, slimy, all the damp-wet things!!! Well done, Mrs. Rice 👏 She sure knows how to create an atmosphere 😮💨
