I'd give this book 3 stars for story/writing but I've chosen to bump it up because it's got disability rep that we are severely lacking in the literary world and I'd like to see more of this. Albeit with a little stronger editing and character building (it was really short book after all).
Frankie is strong, intelligent and sexy character and I loved her for that. Jay is, well, a dude. He's fine, or whatever.
There are a lot of cheesy lines/scenes between the two that made me roll my eyes. I also thought the whole 3rd act break up reason was really dull and unbelievable. Mostly because Mackenzie is an unbelievable character. We have no idea what her motivations are behind what she says/does so she really just feels like a caricature plot device and I didn't really buy into it.
Overall, despite its flaws, I did end up enjoying the book would likely listen to more by Evie Mitchell but alas my library has no more of her books.
