I couldn't put this book down—I read it every chance I got. My thoughts are completely out of order but I’ll start expressing my feelings anyway I can.
The banter between Iris and Roman was absolute perfection.
The rivals-to-lovers arc? A masterpiece. The atmosphere was consuming my thoughts all day.
It was a treat watching Iris fall for C-(no name spoilers!) without realizing it was Roman, all while actively hating him and wanting nothing to do with him. Their deep-rooted insecurities shaped them, but watching them slowly open up and help each other grow into better versions of themselves was beautiful.
I loved that the hardships they had inflicted not just in the moment but past that point as well. Some authors seem to forget about how something traumatic might still affect someone even in mundane ways after it’s happened, but this one? PTSD HITS HARD.
