A fae-human romance that tried to kill me with the amount of cosy vibes it gave me. What I loved best: Buttons, AKA the adorable little bundle of magic that looked like a dog with wings; and Ryul, a lavender-themed blood fae who, despite his relatively young age, was so sweet and helpful and caring. Erryn was such a lonely human, I'm glad she got these two to keep her company. The story could have been told a little better; certain plot threads were started and finished sooner than I thought, and the general narration felt a little clunky. Ryul's POV was very much welcomed, though I wish there was more than the one chapter. I'm left with a lot of questions about this world and the full backstories of these characters. Altogether, it was a good start with an author I'm unfamiliar with!
