With Muriel missing, and her ex starting up a cult, Nicola knew that she had to find out what was going on. Taking her best friend Joseph with her, she finds herself in the middle of potential war against the Norse gods. After a Valkyrie helps them confront her ex, Nicola got tricked to accepting a mission to find all the Runespells and save the world.
Whilst I enjoyed the story, I felt that results were achieved pretty quickly and at times without conflict. Nicola’s character was confusing as she tried to come across as a strong character, but relied heavily on Joseph and Mercy, and I do not know where she would have been if she had not bumped into the Valkyrie.
Nicola’s magic came from her emotions and it was interesting to read the explanation of what she was tapping into. The action picked up once the Runespells came into play and the final battle scene put Nicola to the test. The second book is now out if I wish to continue with the story.
