Tell Me What Really Happened by Chelsea Sedoti

4.0

I should have known how this was going to end.. but somehow at the same time, I didn’t see it coming. Tell me What Really Happened follows a narrative of four teens told exclusively through police interview format. I LOVE this idea so much, especially for a thriller. I’m a huge fan of books with different kind of formatting (ie: Illuminae files), it doesn’t happen often so I literally stopped everything to read this book when it showed up at my door step.

It definitely was giving the Breakfast Club meets Once of us is lying vibes but like in a forest where there are definitely liars but I couldn’t figure out why lol.

Each character I felt like had been fully flushed, I really felt like I knew each character. The good and the bad and I definitely had some thoughts about them but that, to me, makes a great and real character.

I’m giving this one 4 stars for the unique formatting, the twist I should have seen coming but didn’t, the well thought out characters and how quickly I read this seeing as I read more then half in one sitting ( which I NEVER do).

Overall, it’s a fun twisty thriller about five teens with secrets who enter the woods and only four come out alive. But it’s the theme by the end of this that really got to me and stuck with me. However, you’ll have to find out for yourself what that may be.
