Out of the two books of this type I've read this year, this one falls disappointingly low. I've wanted to indulge in this for a while, and, I just was bored.

It dragged far too much. How it's meant to be a trilogy with that pacing, I don't know. I'm just glad it's over to be honest.

The Hearst family was fairly well written, if not morally grey in a form that I liked. Toven was the catalyst, I feel, and I knew from the start that he would have some form of affection for Briony.

…Who probably could have been written better. But, i won't judge too hard. She was positioned in a way that she could only do so much; act in such and such a way.

So I'll forgive that. Probably will not continue the series, however.
