Grady Hendrix can never do me wrong. Someone in the reviews said “the real horror was working retail” and it cracked me up. As did this book. Someone else mentioned that the theming was a 5 and the execution was a 3.5 and I think that’s spot on as well. Just like “We Sold Our Souls”, I rounded up because his books are always such a delight to read. They all have a distinct point of view and the illustrations just added to it. This one spent a while just goofin before it got spooky, and I’ve read enough GH to know when it was coming on (another note: this man just LOVES body horror, rats and fluids. You know what you’re going to get with him.) SUCH a fun book.
