Thomas Dekker - Satiro-Mastix, or The Untrussing of the Humorous Poet: "Thus we lead youth to church, they us to graves." by Thomas Dekker

4.0

Very cruel to Ben Jonson, but really no more than he deserved, and very funny, with mocking of other theatrical stalwarts of the period too. Best understood as part of the "War of the Theatres", which was a rather weird period of plays written by playwrights to slag each other off, and with about the subtlety my phrasing there implies. Dekker is funnier than Ben.
