While I didn't enjoy this one as much as Love in the Time of Cholera (which is ironic because this novel is by far his most well-known,) One Hundred Years of Solitude still delivered on Márquez's transcendent style and unique mysticism of Magical Realism. Between moments of razor-sharp emotion and cutting tragedy, there is a dreamy, other worldly shroud that covers every character of the story - of which there are many and varied examples to point at. Somewhere in the middle of this novel it's easy get confused about so many people with the same name, but the confusion about who is speaking or who is being spoken of seems to be part of the charm and mythos of the expansive Buendía family tree. The grand reveal at the end was also incredible.
