The Godfather by Mario Puzo
5.0
I read this book 10 or more years back and am ashamed to tell that i dint enjoy it that much and i dint actually remember the book much so i gave it three stars. After completing "silence of the lambs" i was not keen on reading my usual books so i was thinking what to read and i my eyes kept on going to The Godfather and i had little insane conversation with godfather in my mind. DO NOT JUDGE. So i opened the book wanting to see what is it about this book that so many people just love and how come i dint like it and why. So i started the book. Even though i saw the movie more than 7 times i thought maybe i will like the book this time. In my defense i was a stupid moronic teenager who could not just grasp the beauty of this book the first time i read. I started reading and finished it in 1 and half day flat. I wokeup at 4 and started reading. I was reading this one continuously. I could not stop reading this book. This book is pure genius. Its pure awesomeness. Its brilliant. I fell crazily in love with this book. Am so crazy about this book that I finished it yesterday afternoon and i started it again today early in the morning instead of doing yoga. I think giving this 5 stars is insulting. i think Marlon Brando and Al Pacino were born for this movie. If the book was perfect then they made Don and Michael come alive. No one absolutely no one would be more suitable for this role. They were born for this. Period. Am so excited i could cry. Am not worthy to write a review. All i can do is go back and read it again and again. There are books and there is perfectness. Man oh man. Am not a fan of violence but hell this gave whole different definition for that word. Every one keeps asking me.. Book or movie?? Well Movie complimented the book. Movie justifies the book. Better?? There can only be justification to the book. PERIOD. The dialogues were goose pimples worthy. The friendship. The loyalty. The revenge. OH MY GOD. The way he described Italy. Even Mario Puzo could not have done a better job. There will be many many good and amazing books but there will be only ONE DON and one GODFATHER.
