Empty Set by VerĂ³nica Gerber Bicecci

4.0

Empty Set is a spare meditation on emptiness, space, absence. Relationships with two men, the narrator's brother, and the narrator's absent mother, are explored in sparse, evocative prose and diagrams, as well as blocks of empty page, all to great effect. I found it to be an extremely enjoyable read, and loved the experimental aspect of the novel, which made it challenging (in a good way) in spite of what one might consider a very "been there, done that" (and barely there) plot.
