Almost Midnight by Rainbow Rowell

4.0

I love Rainbow Rowell. There's no doubt about it. And this book was everything I could ever ask for. I've only read Fangirl, Carry on and Eleanor & Park by her, but I can definitely say I'm going to read more.

This book is just two short stories that I've enjoyed so much. I want to write about them separately but the thing I want to say about both of them is that I loved the illustrations.

Midnights - 4 stars
I've read this short story in one collection of short stories I own years ago - and I was surprised by how little I remembered. I basically forgot the whole plot, except for the fact that it's told always around midnight with more than just a one year. And I loved Mags and Noel. I could see Mags being desperately in love with Noel since the beginning - and, let's be honest, who wouldn't? It just makes me want to know more about them than just how they act on New Years.

Kindred Spirits - 4 stars
As a Star Wars fan myself, I loved it. I'm still not sure if I actually liked that there wasn't hinted if Elena and Gabe ended up together or they remained friends but maybe it was a good thing. And just a whole short story about a thing I love - Star Wars movies - was amazing and I didn't even know I needed it. And Gabe was a sweetheart just as Noel.
