Normally a fan of Lucy Foley but The Midnight Feast wasn’t her best in my opinion. It took a while for me to finish cause it just seemed to drag. The story itself is interesting and I think had greater potential to be fleshed out more in some aspects, and at the same time it felt that some aspects dragged out too much. Didn’t really feel too much connection to the characters and struggled to find the narrative believable at times.
If you’re looking for more of a slow burn this would be for you.
