this just was not for me. the premise had a lot of potential and i really liked the concept. but the characters felt so one-dimensional—there was absolutely no reason for them to be attracted to each other. gideon and rune's respective actions and stances felt extreme in context and the whole conflict seemed morally gray. i wish the story leaned more into the action and plot instead of the characters' attraction to each other, which, again, felt lacking.
