This book is not without its flaws. But it gave me exactly what I wanted and in an exact way that I wanted it. If you approach it with an open mind and basically treat it as a Harry Potter AU fanfiction, I am sure you will be able to overlook plot flaws.
I loved the book for what it is. I wish we had more YA fantasy books with gay romance as the main romance in the story (and positive representation in general).
