This book was very, very addictive, which is what I like with thrillers. I had a very difficult time to put it down.
This is my first Colleen Hoover book and I’m now sold on her writing. I’ll be reading some of her other books as well.
While I know she is normally a romance author, this was a bit different for her, a thriller. This was everything I was hoping it was. I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what was happening.
Hoover kept me on my toes with the plot. I thought I knew what was going on, only for it to be thrown entirely away at the end. For the category that it is, I love the ending to it. It’s ambiguous, not clear, and it makes the reader think. What is right and wrong? I also loved the fact that it isn’t out of nowhere, there are hints throughout the entire thing.
I was also a huge fan of the flip flopping between Lowen and Verity’s writing. I loved reading both parts, never bored with one or the other.
However, if you are looking for a romance I would not suggest this book. While there is one, it isn’t really that impactful. The book focuses more on the mystery and situation. The romance is there, but not in the typical way.
Overall I really loved this, a great read to pick up coming into October.
